HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
This was my New Year's Eve:
This was Christmas Eve:
I even found my word for
2014:
Confident.
Yep.
It's a little scary.
And don't you know, whenever you find your word, you are CHALLENGED on it.
The first thing that came to me was the verse from Philippians 1:6:
"For I am CONFIDENT of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus."
Bam.
Then I began looking at my attitude toward my art.
Being confident will be a good thing.
Enough of not "being enough".
That's so two-thousand and thirteen.
Do you do New Year's Resolutions?
I don't. Nope.
I have learned that I just love the concept of NEW.
New beginnings.
New projects.
New days.
New moments.
New journals.
New calendars.
New mercies.
(every day.)
bookmark and journal from Amy. Pen from Scarlet Lime.
I began in my new journal, along with my new pen.
So much is ahead this year...a lot of unkowns, some big new territory to cover.
Parts of it I will jump in with both feet and grow.
Parts of it I will be bold in.
Here and there I will be positive.
Oh, who am I kidding?
I'm ready.
I want to be Bold and Brave and Positive and full of Trust, with my hands OPEN...confident.
Every. Single. Day.
Who's with me?
p.s.
I'm having an "Insta-sale" over on my Instagram account.
Each print is $12.00, which includes shipping.

ReplyDeleteI am so happy that in 2013 our friendship grew and we are sure to spur each other on in 2014.
Resolutions are set up to make us feel bad. I am so with you, each day new, free, exciting.
I am IN!
Amy
Hello my friend. What a wonderful word. That would be a great word for me as well. I wish I had a little bit more confidence that's for sure. Happy 2014!
ReplyDeleteHugs~
What a great post, Lynn...and I love your word choice! I'm looking forward to what 2014 has in store for us!
ReplyDeleteI have never chosen a word of the year before, but I have been contemplating one for this year. Your's is perfect! I have laid low from instagram, just getting my groove back on FB even, I've taken to trolling pinterest and tumblr ... that's what happens to me when my kids leave after a visit. It just takes a little of regrouping in my head and heart. I am ready to get back at it and will regram your fabulous sale! I just love love love your work, your confidence is well deserved my friend! Happy 2014! love, t.xoxxoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI love your word for the year! It's similar to my "stepping out" theme for last year. I didn't want to be bold. I just wanted to be a little bold-er. I tried to accomplish that. I pray that 2014 is your year of confidence.
ReplyDeleteNow, as I say to my class, I'll give you this next one for free:
In Hebrew and Greek, as in English, the concept of confidence can be drilled all the way back to the concept of confiding. In other words, we have confidence in God so we confide in Him. Even more, we have confidence in God WHEN we confide in Him. It's one of those "well, duh" concepts that we too often overlook.
And He will keep in perfect peace (Lynn) who trusts in Him because she confides in Him....
There ya go. A nice little devotional all packaged as a comment. Happy New Year to you!!
