What was supposed to be a post on how to do a gel transfer is now a post about a disaster.

Do not attempt gel transfers if you have to go pick up your kid(s) from school in an hour and 20 minutes.
WAIT for more uninterrupted time.

Learn to read.

Then you won't have to start over because you put the words in the wrong order.

And then realize you just missed one word.

Which, if placed properly,  could have potentially avoided said disaster,

Lots of scraping,

and weariness.

And some frustration.

  1. Awww...sooo sorry! Been rushed and made mistakes...NO FUN! Can't wait to see your 2nd try :)

  2. I have so been there. Bummer! Try again and share the tutorial with us. I know this will turn out great.

  3. Well, I don't even know what a gel transfer is, so I think I'm safe.

Is this on your big canvas?

Maybe some misplaced words faintly in the background might be ok?

    Like a double exposure-type thing?

Of course what do I know? I haven't a clue as to what you were aiming for.

But sometimes when I think I have screwed up, I get really bent out of shape and miss what could actually turn out to be a "good mistake".....

    Know what I mean??

  4. OH, that must have been so frustrating...but bet it will give it a great distressed look...

  5. Oh, no! But just think, now you will know what not to do the next time! I've never tried gel transfer myself. I bet you will be able to give us some great tips, next time, though:)

  6. I'm feelin' your pain, Lynn! I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I feel as though I'm "transfer challenged". No matter what technique I try, I'm NEVER happy with the results. Hopefully your next effort will yield better results. Hugs, Terri xoxo

  7. I KNEW it. I knew by the title that I was going to be coughing by the end of this.

So THIS time, I came prepared. That's all I'm saying...

Hope you get it right the next time. Sorry that it went wrong, but oh the story you got to tell.

It almost makes it worth it.

  8. oh lynn, I have missed so much around here. I know it is so frustrating to have to have so many things on the burner at once. I think this is why I don't dive into as many lengthy projects anymore.
Hope it gets better next time around.
P.S. we were just in Laguna this week before the super cold and rain started
wish we would have had more time so we could have met down at the beach!!

  9. Oh Lynn, I know how frustrating that can be! I had small disasters last night when attempting to make simple gift tags!! ARGH~!!!!

You are very talented and I'm sure your finished project will be wonderful!!!

Can't wait to see my birdy!!!
    HUGS, sweetie!
