Pre-travel random-ness

I feel like a squirrel skittering across the ice.
Anita, do your squirrels ever act like that? I know, no ice where you live.
I am supposed to be packing right now. I have everything thrown in a heap on the couch in my room. But that's as far as I've gotten.

Just a few things going on in life...
I had to call a friend to go to my Mom's as she fell and ended up tearing ligaments in her foot. Thank goodness my sister was there in time to spend HOURS in the e.r. with her.
Yesterday, the battery in the car died and I had to call AAA, and someone to take Brenna from one school to another. Thank goodness for COLLEEN!
I just whipped out the credit card and bought a new battery on the spot from the nicest tow truck driver ever. Apparently, " the better thing to do would have been to have the car towed to the dealer and they were to pro-rate the battery and put in a new one."
Right.

Laundry is done, but I have yet to make Doug's list for the week of where Brenna should be and when..

Do I make food and freeze it for them?

Naaahhh..

But I'll need to remind them to feed Miss Party.

And to put up the kitchen trash. Or better yet, put a child-proof lock on the cabinet door.

Bless my husband, he is taking the week off to watch Brenna. He will have time to do that, right??

I guess I won't care, because I'll be studying this:

And finding my way around these streets!

xoxo,
Lynn

  1. Hi Lynn,

You are going to exhausted by the time you leave. Hopefully the flight will be restful. I imagine Doug will manage just fine, but will miss you dearly just the same.

As for Miss Party...she looks like she's already planning for mayhem in your absence! LOL.

    Hugs sweet friend,
    Susan

  2. You will have so much fun that all that other stuff will be forgotten.
Your hubby and Brenna will figure it all out, just in time for your return.
    LOL
No seriously, if you worry about all that you won't be able to enjoy your trip. Relax, you have friends and family that will take care of everything.
Hope your mom is fine, eeks.
Now get packing and have fun!!!

  3. Once you're on the flight and on your way, you'll be great. Leave your worries behind you on the ground and concentrate on having fun. They'll all be just fine and will probably end up really appreciating all that you do! Now get it in gear, and pack those bags!!! Have a ton of fun!!!! Hugs, Terri xoxo

  4. i'm so excited for you!
have to laugh at the frozen meals...the first time i left the boys alone for a week while i visited my daughter at school, i prepared & froze meals for every night i was gone.
when i got home...there they all still were, in the freezer. the outside garbage overflowing with mcdonald's bags & pizza boxes...i've never worried about their nourishment in my absence again...
i hope you ride a vespa while you're there, with a stylish scarf & sunglasses....

  5. Lynn,
Have a wonderful time. I remember loving the frozen meals when my parents were gone, especially Swanson's Chicken Pot Pie!

Thanks so much for your dear note. You are a precious friend.

    Love,
    Suz

  6. I'm so excited for you!! I hope to see some adventures on her blog featuring the visiting mom, and I expect some reporting from you too.

I think it was wonderful for him to take the week off. You will rest much more at ease because of it.

  7. have fun {she halfheartedly says as she wipes up the drool from the keyboard} Think of me while you're throwing coins in the Fontana di Trevi, and zipping around on your Vespa, admiring the incredible architecture that is full of character and charm, and enjoying those endless Italian meals...yes, do think of this little bloggy friend...who knows she is not supposed to be envious...but might be a teensy weensy bit...

TAKE PLENTY OF PICTURES!!! MAKE US FEEL LIKE WE WENT WITH YOU!!
    LOL!!

Love ya! Have an absolute blast!!

  8. Well, I have never seen a squirrel on ice, but I have seen a deer on ice.

It was not a pretty sight.

    Ramon noodles and tuna.

    {not together}

    They will survive.

    Hopefully Miss Party will also.

Have a wonderful, wonderful time and DO NOT WORRY.

Take photos and buy shoes instead.

    {xox}
