Being Brave.

"It is hard to be brave," said Piglet, sniffling slightly, "when you're only a Very Small Animal."~A.A. Milne

Have you had to be a little bit brave today?

Some days I choose to be brave.
Some days I think it's very brave of me to get out of bed and be nice and make breakfast.
Could be I've been brave because I chose to put my hair up,walk out the door and decide I didn't look like an awkward teenager.

Quite posssibly I was brave today by finishing this page in my journal.
I kept going on it, adding bits here and there, trying colors, covering something I didn't like instead of declaring it a disaster.

Some days, it really is a choice, don't you think?

Choosing bright colors. That's pretty brave.

Or grabbing the top of my diamond glaze and putting it in the inkpad and finding out it makes a great circle stamp, and was just the size I needed.

Were you a little brave today?
I'd love to hear it, and then I'll post what you all did and we can encourage each other.

Even if we are feeling like it's hard because we are a very small animal.

  1. You being brave ROCKS!!!
this piece is wonderful. Love the color and textures.
They way you have placed the bird on the line looks as if the bird is trying to be brave to spread his wings and fly!! AMAZING!
And that is what life is, being brave enough to take that first leap, and try something new.
    CONGRATS.
I was brave today by trying to design a new hat.
I can't wait to share it with everyone.
    Take care
    and continue being BRAVE

  2. What a great post, Lynn! Your journal pages are just gorgeous, and true works of art! I love what you and Piglet have to say about being brave, so many great words of wisdom:) What have I done lately that is brave, lets see: I moved 2,500 miles away from home, to a place that I know no one. I was scared to death, but guess that counts as brave! And I was in two flea markets out here this summer, something I never would have had the courage to do back home! While I didn't always feel brave doing these things, I did it! Great idea, lets all encourage each other, we need all the support we can get! Have a great (brave!) day!!

  4. Hi Lynn,
Love your thoughts and art! You create such cool things. I've been a little brave here and there lately. Took on a fairly large order the week school starts, knowing that it would be a challenge~~even though I do work well with some pressure!

    Have a great day gal!
    Hugs,

  12. Your work is fabulous. So much for the eye to see. Textures, colors, content.

My bravery... I keep saying that I have been putting my big girl britches on. That means dreaming bigger, believing in myself more, and reaching with bigger hands for my wildest dreams. It also means not trying to do it all on my own. Having the Flying Lesson community makes that part easy.

So glad to connect with you! Keep up the awesome work. It is inspiring.

  13. Well, Mz Lynn, it looks like you have for sure taken to wearing those big girl panties.

    Wearing 'em hiked up.

Probably right up to your armpits.

    Good job!

Love the whole thing---especially where the "Brave" has an upside down "cutting line" right above it.....

    WooHoo!
