create: to evolve from one's own thought or imagination, as a work of art or an invention.

More fun to show you today!

Ah, yes. The soldering iron.
Have you tried one? I really enjoy what can be done with them.

I visited my friend, Susie a couple of weekends ago and across from her sweet store is the best thrift store, ever!!! I found this amazing dictionary that was published in 1934,

It is chock full of beautiful print and images.

My sisters and I poured over it while we had lunch.

And now the images are caught between glass.

It was such a beautiful afternoon, I expanded my creative space even more. Lauren had the great idea to work outside. Wow. Now we can really spread out!

Then she found her beach glass that she got from Half to Have It, located in Half Moon Bay.

Her creative genius kicked in and off she went!!

Pretty cool, yes?

One problem. My soldering tip burned a hole through itself. What????
Yup. I went to the hardware store and tried to find a replacement. Ha ha. I ended up buying a new one for $15.00.
It also burned a hole through it's tip.
Now it's a mystery I really need to solve 'cause I have a whole dictionary to put between glass!!!
Have a great day...

  1. Oh Lynn,
I Love your dictionary pendants...oh, I want to learn to solder...but I'm toooo scared!!!
I am going to have to force myself to just do it cuz I always love the finished result.
Looks like an inspired, creative day friend. I had so much fun with you & your sisters, I don't even want to go back to the shop unless you all come with me...oooohhhhKKKK!

  2. Lynn,

You are just creating like crazy...I love it. I must start working on soldering because I have a class with Sally Jean Alexander and need to be more than a rookie by the. It does not come naturally to me at all. Lauren (that cutie) did a beautiful job! Now the tip burning a hole through itself is quite interesting...and hard to wrap my mind around...lol

    Solder on, Sister!

  3. Oh, I just adore old dictionaries and have quite a collection!

I just sold a cool one at my last rummage sale.....

    The story of rayon??

    That is priceless.

I know nothing about soldering....sorry to be of no help.

    Rock on!

  4. Hi Lynn~ these are so lovely! I have been thinking of taking a class to learn this!

  5. That is so cool when things come together like that! I guess you will be very very busy, ha ha

  6. This very might be my favorite of all your projects that I've seen thus far. I LOVE words. This really jazzes me.

    The possiblilities are endless!

  7. Lynn,
You are so kind! I am so lucky to have you as a friend!

  8. Love the soldered pieces, I need to get mine out and play. You are doing great job!
