Both Brenna and Splash persevered and had a great lesson!
So, I have to tell you. Splash hit a little bit of a soft mound of dirt in the corner of the ring and stumbled. My heart just about leaped out of my chest. Literally, I thought I would leap over the fence in a single bound. But just as fast as the horse stumbled, she recovered and kept going. The trainer gave Brenna a high five for keeping her cool. I think it happened so fast that Brenna didn't really have time to react except for "Woah! That was crazy!"
I realized today just how much concentration she has to put into each lesson. Head up. Reins held just right. Lead the horse. Look where you are going. Uhhh, she lost me on head up.
It was a beautiful day today. Dare I tell you it was 78 degrees? Spring has sprung a little early out here. There are two new members of the stable:
This hungry man is about one month old. He had just woken up from a nap-sound asleep flat out on the hay!
I believe this beauty is 2 WEEKS!!!!
I'm hoping Benna can get back next week. It's supposed to rain again Monday, so we will have to see.
Hoping you all did something you enjoyed today!
oh my, brenna looks like she is having a blast!!! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteAnd splash is gorgeous, as is that sweet little baby.
Please don't tell me it was 78....don't want to hear it! LOL!
xoxoxo, Tiffany

ReplyDeleteI am NOW a follower of your blog and I am lovin' this post...your photos seem to pop as if I'm watching a movie and hit the pause button...that's intended to be a compliment!
Your daughter is beautiful and the colt is precious!
Thank you,
Sandy
She looks like she is having fun and not scared at all. The few times I've rode, I've always been a wee bit afraid of the horse. :D Looks like a great place to ride, its beautiful (are those orange tree's in the back ground?) and what sweet babies!

I had just been wondering if Brenna had been back in the saddle lately and here is my answer!
ReplyDeleteSomeone really looks like she is enjoying herself and Splash looks like a wonderful, smart horse. Is Splash an Arabian?
I was a horse crazy kid---did the whole 4-h project thing and showed horses all through high school and beyond. Showed Miniature Horses as an adult. Horses are great!
Those two foals are so cute! I haven't been around any that young in years........
But when do you get to ride, Lynn???

Hooray for Brenna. I am not sure what I would done if I were there, Lynn. I probably would be frozen in my place and not be able to move! It looks like she handled it so well. What a wonderful thing to have her do,,,such a confidence-builder.
ReplyDeleteAre you working on your Alice tags yet? I am waiting for some "Alice" materials!
Hugs to you!
