Slotted Spoons

Since I have had two people offer to buy me a slotted spoon since my last post, I thought I would just go get one. They must be  useful if people are worried that I don't have one. It must be pretty important to take apricots and pine nuts out of a pan properly when the recipe says to take it out of the pan with a slotted spoon. I wouldn't want to bring out any oil or garlic, right? Pretty guache of me to use just a spoon and not a slotted spoon to take apricots and pine nuts out of a pan.  Or, heaven forbid-just slide it all out of the pan into a bowl!!

Before I launched a trip to Bed, Bath and Beyond to get the best darn slotted spoon I could possibly find, I rummaged through my kitchen drawer. Hey! Is THIS what you all are talking about?

Good grief!! I can't remember where I got it, much less if I have ever used it!! That's WAAAY too big for some silly little apricots and pine nuts. Right? Please tell me I'm right. My gosh, the pine nuts will fall right through it!!!

What on earth would I use something this big for? Are there different sized slotted spoons??

 Whatever.

 I like to just slide all my apricots and pine nuts out of the pan. Thanks. Oh. And to set the record straight, I really DO like to cook. A lot. And I do own a slotted spoon, so all is right in the world. Whew. I was worried for a minute there....
